About Djana

Project AWARE ambassador, Djana Chapuis works towards ecological education. With children she organizes multiple beach clean-up campaigns around Kuwait, while with older kids (starting from 10 years old) and adults, Djana organizes underwater cleaning event “Dive Against Marine Debris”.

Through her diving career Djana realized that there is still huge work that has to be done to keep our environment clean and healthy. 

To attract attention to the problem and raise awareness she started her underwater painting experience back in 2017. She believes that through the beauty of art she can establish a strong voice helping the population of this Planet to understand: “It’s time to take care of our home.”

Plastic pollution has become one of the major global environmental challenges of the century; projections show that by 2050 the oceans may have more plastic than fish.

By cooperating with other underwater painters worldwide and creating her own unique technique of painting with scuba gear, Djana Chapuis became the first underwater painter in Kuwait.

Her work has been recognized by leading Kuwait and international environmentalists, her paintings travel to USA, Australia, Europe and Russia.
